Nestled on a serene acreage just outside Plamondon, Straight and Arrow Boutique, owned by Allison Dupre, is more than a shopping destination—it’s an experience. From its beginnings as a professional photography studio in 2015 to its transformation into a women’s clothing boutique in 2019, Allison has created a haven where customers can escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a peaceful shopping getaway.

In 2006, the idea for Lac La Biche Equipment Rental was born when Dale Hammons, working on a residential subdivision, identified a gap in the local market. Struggling to find all the necessary equipment, he recognized the need for a rental service tailored to the community’s needs. Meanwhile, his son, fresh off a Power Engineer contract in Argentina, took up the challenge to run this new venture. Relocating to Lac La Biche from Bonnyville, the younger Hammons embraced the opportunity, partnering with his father to create a reliable equipment rental business.

Starting small, they soon realized the importance of having an in-house mechanic. Impressed by the skills of a neighboring mechanic, Lorn Routhier, they invited him to join the business as a shareholder. His expertise became a cornerstone of the company’s success, reinforcing their commitment to offering top-notch service.

For nearly two decades, Reminiscence has been a staple in the community, offering fresh flowers, giftware, and jewellery in a one-stop shopping experience. Owned and operated by Wade and Anna, Reminiscence reflects their passion for providing quality products and meaningful service to their customers.

The journey began when Wade and Anna wanted a way to stay local, raise their children, and pursue entrepreneurship. When the opportunity to purchase Reminiscence arose, they took a leap of faith and haven’t
