Community Futures Lac La Biche office is a non-profit organization that’s dedicated to building an economically diverse future for the communities of our beautiful region.
Staffed by seasoned business professionals and guided by a volunteer Board of Directors, we’re more than just a business lender. With over 30-years of experience helping rural entrepreneurs grow and thrive as small business owners, we understand where you are now and where you want to go in the future.

With a number of specialized business training programs, regular business networking events, and flexible business loans on offer, we’re here to help you achieve your business goals.
Community Futures Lac La Biche is funded by Prairies Economic Development Canada as a part of the larger Community Futures organization. Community Futures of Canada has been supporting small business and rural economic diversification since 1986 and has 269 offices across the country.
Since September 1986, $60 million in small business loans has been advanced through over 900 loans to more than 550 businesses in the Lac La Biche region.

We help entrepreneurs and small business owners throughout the Lac La Biche region, including: Atmore, Avenir, Barnegat, Beaver Lake Cree Nation, Behan, Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement, Briereville, Caslan, Craigend, Fork Lake, St. Lina, Grassland, Heart Lake First Nation, Helina, Hylo, Imperial Mills, Kikino Metis Settlement, Lac La Biche, Margie, Normandeau, Noral, Owl River, Pelican Portage, Philomena, Pitlochry, Plamondon, Rich Lake, Tweedie, Venice, and Wandering River.
Our ultimate goal is to help our area grow and thrive through economic diversification - we help companies across all industries, with a strong history of helping those in the construction, logging, transportation, forestry, retail, and oilfield service sectors.
Rural Economic Diversification
Rural Economic Diversification is the core of what we do. We work alongside community leaders and other key stakeholders to create community economic development plans and implement projects that support value-added activity and expansion into new sectors.
We monitor our business community and provide guidance on business retention and succession planning strategies.
